This was a really nice day! Susan and Marn are removing a successfully kiln shaped crimson floral vase from the kiln. You can see another picture of the vase in the gallery.

Glass can be placed over ceramic or stainless steel molds and heated until it becomes flexible enough to take the shape of the mold. In this case, the glass is placed on a narrow steel mold that allows the glass to take it's own peculiar shape as it is pulled down by gravity.
