The Studio

Shards Glass Studio is tucked away on 12 acres of forested land on Vancouver Island, Canada. We are  on the West Coast, just an hour away from Victoria, BC.

The rough island coastline, wildlife, and dense rainforest provide us with unlimited inspiration for our fused glass (panels and glassware) and art glass sculptures.

We merge several glass forming methods to render textures from glossy to sandy, give an impression of weight or delicacy, and capture or liberate light. The combination of glass techniques is never exactly repeated from design to design. This ensures that our clients art pieces are truly unique, maintain their value, and provide years of delight and intrigue each time the glass art panel is viewed.

Shards Glass Studio offers art glass panels that combine the various techniques of fused, slumped, or cast glass with traditional stained glass. These techniques are essential to perform the various design concepts that make our panels so unusual.

We produce glass panels using bevelled glass and traditional stained glass technique. This type of glasswork often creates an antique Victorian or Edwardian look using clear glasses. However, contemporary designs and coloured glass can be used to give an equally elegant look.

We also create unique fused glassware. These pieces are completely functional, but truly belong on display.

There are many steps involved in creating our glass art, from the important collaboration with our clients on design, to the final installation.
