"The Seed Garden"
This small field has been the source of thousands and
thousands of seeds . An old, but very fit man, has been
working this garden for many years and is still there
today. It is near Victoria.

"The Church"
The freedom of the brushwork is what makes this painting.
It has less structure than the church painted by Emily
Carr, an artist I greatly admire. In her later work
she had fun with her brushstrokes. When I was working
on my art project in a huge hay field last year, it
got very late. We had been laying out an image of a
mother and child using the cut golden hay as a means
to form the drawing. It was very hot and tiring work
and the sun was going down. It was at that moment that
we heard the sound of prayer coming drifting across
the golden sweet hay field. It was from a tiny church
across the valley. The art project was in support of
children's rights

"Squamish Inlet near Vancouver"
We live in a beautiful part of the world. The Sea to
Sky highway cuts it's way along the base of the Chieftain
mountain. I have hiked to the top of this mountain and
recommend it to anyone. The views are tremendous and
it offers a sheer drop on one side. It is an easy climb.
Some people prefer to climb up the sheer face. I recommend
the back trail!

"Spread of Tulips"
These tulips remind me of a peacock spreading it's feathers
to attract a mate.

"Tractor Having a Short Rest"
I sat and ate my lunch while studying this scene. It
was only 9:30a.m. This happens all the time on my outings
and I am still hungry by lunch time. Tractors with big
rubber tires caught my imagination as a child on the
farm. They seemed so powerful. They still smell of oil
and metal just as they did so many years ago.
