"Preparing the Earth"
A ploughed field is so full of potential fertility. Very little matches the scent of the fresh soil waiting for new seeds to nourish

"Free Range Eggs"
This is Mrs Lewers farm house and bed and breakfast. It is a beautiful piece of land and well kept. Lots of hard work to keep it that way. A very nice lady too. I had a little hen house of my own as a child. My job was to feed the chickens, clean them, and try to find the eggs when they didn't lay them in their boxes. This place is near Sooke, a short drive from Victoria.

"Field of Sunflower Seeds"
I like fertile things. Count the number of seeds on a single sunflower plant and then think about how many seeds must be in an entire field. As many as there are stars in the night sky.

"Feeding the Milk Cows"
I love cows. Their sounds. Their smell. Did I mention that I love cows?

"Saanich Field"
This valley is very special. Every year we get our strawberries from the fields in the distance and make jam. We also pick our blackberries from the fertile valley bottom in the many bushes that line the edge of fields. We make thick jam with that too. If you haven't stuck your face into the steam of a big pot of bubbling hot jam, then there is a good chance that you haven't truly lived life to it's fullest yet.
