Fields are like a quilt. They have broken patterns that are fun to play with. The suggest generations of work and history. It was common to make quilts from old dresses of the children when they were young as well as grandma's and family clothes. Each had a special memory and a story to tell. Fields full of different crops have much the same quality for me. They appear comforting.
